New owners of a dated Uplands, Victoria home wanted a compete home renovation from the inside out. The Costa team helped overhaul the property outside. The owners’ goal was to modernize the look and maximize the space to suit their tastes and needs. With a southern facing front yard, the customers wanted to take advantage of the sunny area and have a warm, inviting front patio space and backyard garden oasis.
After discussing their ideas with the customer, our team laid out the landscape designs and got to work. We worked hand-in-hand with the building contractor in the initial stages to excavate and prepare the soil and landscape.
The first step began with transplanting all of the existing plants that they wanted to keep into newly created and freshly cultivated garden beds. Then the landscaping excavated the rest of the outdoor space to start with a clean slate. We brought in road base and compacted it in the required areas, including the deck, patio, and new stairs.
We created a custom patio using cut stone basalt pavers in the front and Abbotsford Texada local pavers in the back patio. Our team hand-picked pieces of slate and added a custom pathway and patio for entertaining.
As with any complete make-over, we installed a new lawn with locally sourced sod. We built and added vegetable boxes for the family to grow their greens all year round. To keep the pests from their harvests, our carpenter also erected a custom fence, complete with a gate. We now work with contractors to build landscape construction such as fences and garden boxes into large-scale projects.
Up next for the property: installing a greenhouse and a custom-built arbour over the patio.
