Our garden designer had a busy summer creating planting plans for outdoor spaces and gardens across Greater Victoria, BC. Now it’s time for our gardeners and landscapers to work their magic, turning garden designs into garden beds.

Here they are (at one large-scale project we’ve been working on) mapping out the plants based on Kaylynne’s designs before plant installation and final gardening touches 🌿🪴🌾

Healing power of reflection pools in gardens 💧⛲️🙏 From temple garden ponds to castles with lakes and water fountains, people have meditated on the reflective surface of water for ages. Reflective pools are not only aesthetically attractive—reflecting the garden’s greenery and flowers or light and shadows and changing skies above on their calm surfaces—but they’re relaxing, meditative, and thought-provoking too. (They’re also a great de-stressor 🧘)

We designed and made this color washed concrete-columned water feature and placed it among tropical plants to enjoy in a Victoria, BC garden. Eventually the idea is to have the moss start to take hold and it will slowly drip off the mosses. We often float flowers on the surface and watch them slowly twirl in the breeze.

Here’s one Victoria BC greenhouse that will soon be full of tropicals and feeling a lot like a miniature version of our Butterfly Gardens! 🌴🌺☀️💧🌿 It’s time for sun and heat loving tropical plants to come inside as fall’s coastal temperatures begin to drop.

Our gardening crew has been digging up, repotting, and moving some tropical house plants back indoors—cooler nights mean bring those tender plants in for winter. We love adding tender plants to gardens and planters for the summer. Planting a house plant in the shade outside in Spring is a great way to size up your house plants!

West coast garden design ideas 🌿🌲🌊 We love the contrasting and complementary materials, textures, and techniques here where hardscaping and landscaping intersect.

Here, we layered a traditional drystone wall with a curved cedar fence that undulates like waves to eventually take over where the drystone wall we designed and built by hand ends. The pops of evergreen from the native to BC sword ferns and other decorative plants completes the look and west coast vibe of this Victoria BC home and garden.

Our landscaping crew is currently renovating this Victoria BC property into a terraced patio and garden space with new retaining walls and stone steps.

We’ve been excavating, preparing this site, and building a 3’ Corten steel retaining wall—with two more 2’ walls to come—as well as transporting and installing a natural stone staircase into an existing retaining wall with these beautiful large stone slabs.

We’ll be installing three patios, garden beds with nice edging and new plantings, and pathways throughout the new space.

Looking great so far team! We’ll be posting more updates from this project soon.
